First Massage? What to Expect, What to Wear and How Long to Book | South Edmonton

What should I expect at my first massage?

You'll fill out a short health history form, then your RMT will ask about your goals and any areas of concern. You undress to your comfort level and are covered with a sheet the whole time, with only the area being worked on uncovered. You can ask for changes in pressure or focus at any time.

Book: Therapeutic Massage 60 mins ($115)

Do I need to undress for a massage?

Undress only to your comfort level. You'll be draped with a sheet at all times, and your therapist leaves the room while you get ready. Traditional Thai massage is done fully clothed, so wear comfortable clothing for that one.

Book: Relaxation Massage 60 mins ($115)

Will a massage hurt? How much pressure should I ask for?

Massage should feel like 'good pressure', not sharp pain. Tell your therapist what you like and speak up any time; you're always in control of the pressure.

Book: Therapeutic Massage 60 mins ($115)

How long should my massage be: 60, 75 or 90 minutes?

60 minutes is enough to cover the full body or focus on a few areas. Choose 75 or 90 minutes if you want full-body work plus extra time on problem areas, or if you have several concerns.

Book: Therapeutic Massage 60 mins ($115) or Therapeutic Massage 90 mins ($160)

Can I request a male or female therapist?

Yes, you can choose a specific therapist when booking. Your request can be fulfilled when booking online through Jane, adding a note to the appointment, or calling us. We will do our best to match your preference.
