Cupping, Red Light or RAPID: Which Recovery Tools Help Athletes? | South Edmonton
Beyond massage, we offer several recovery tools. Here is what cupping, red light therapy and RAPID NeuroFascial Reset are, plus a budget-friendly option.
Is cupping good for athletes?
Many athletes use cupping to help loosen tight muscles and fascia. Dynamic cupping by an RMT combines cupping with massage, and fire cupping is offered by our acupuncturists. Cupping can leave temporary round marks that usually fade within several days.
Book: Dynamic Cupping 60 mins ($125) or Fire Cupping by Acupuncturist ($60)
Does red light therapy help muscle recovery?
Red and near-infrared light therapy is popular with active people for recovery, and some research suggests it may help with muscle soreness, though results vary. It's relaxing, non-invasive and easy to add to your routine.
Book: Target Recovery (10-20 min) ($40) or Full Body Recharge (GloMat) 30 min ($49)
What is RAPID NeuroFascial Reset?
RAPID NeuroFascial Reset is a hands-on technique that combines specific pressure with active movement to address tight, irritated soft tissue. At Massage Square, it can be combined with therapeutic massage for 1–2 areas or multiple areas, or added on to a massage.
Book: Therapeutic Massage + RAPID 1-2 areas (45 min) ($130) or Therapeutic Massage + RAPID multiple areas (60 min) ($160) or Add on RAPID Neurofascial Reset (up to 15 min) ($40)
Is there a more affordable massage option for regular gym recovery?
Yes. We offer discounted massages by practicum and senior practicum students when available, which can be a budget-friendly way to keep up regular recovery. Availability is seasonal and limited.
Book: PROMO PRICE 60 Minutes Swedish Massage by Practicum Student Massage ($35) or PROMO PRICE - Student Massage 60 mins ($64)
